Didn’t manage to get the clothes washed and dry at the caravan but we got everything else reorganised ready for the rest of leg 4. Bobby and I had a terrible sleep but it was nice to not have to pitch the tent. Was overcast but sun was starting to try get out. You can tell we were heading into the west as the hills and mountains were starting to appear. As we started to climb, down came the rain, heavy and windy. It was like a switch, was nice and sunny and it changed with the click off a finger. Out we got to put up the makeshift curtain to stop the rain driving in the back. I was soaked within minutes as was Bobby. On we went towards tongue causeway. Where the rain eased off. We stopped on the causeway at Olovers. He asked a bit about what we were doing and said he would not charge for the food we ordered. It was another show of immense kindness. Had a few people stop and asked about the challenge and wee donation. This lifted me a bit as as much as the attention was there we hadn’t had a huge amount of donations coming in the previous days. The drive towards the golden Eagle zipline was great. The winding roads over the tops of the hills tested the tuktuks but they did good. Slow and steady was the trick. We started to get alot of response with waves, pictured and videos being taken off us. This certainly felt great and was exactly what I was hoping for. We seen the response on Nc500 page and it made our day. We reached the zip line and off we went. Becca first, Dechlan, myself then Bobby. Hilariously me and Bobby tried to walk away at the end when we were still attached to the safety line. They told me before I got jolted back but not Bobby. This tickled us all. Today was begining to be one of the best days. Becca and Dechlan decided to do the cliff jump and without hesitation both throw themselves off the edge. Rather them than me. Becca did land a bit funny and hurt her ankle but was all okay in the end. We left here towards smoo cave. Good few steps down was disappointed to see dog mess sitting at the side of the steps. One of my pet hates. Other than this the place was great. To see how rich Its history was. To think what would have been a bustling place many years ago. Unfortunately the tour was off due to the 3rd chamber being too dangerous as the weather was so bad previous days. You can’t win them all I suppose, we were lucky to get the ziplines today. Leaving Durness we gave a beep and a wave to the lady at Cairn House Arts and crafts as requested. In flew a donations from.them on just giving, amazing. Onwards down to Scourie was a lovely drive, the purple in the Heather so visible now. The terrain reminded us a bit of Harris and Lewis. Arriving at scourie the sun was still splitting the sky’s. We pitched the tent, sat outside before ordering pizzas in the amazing wee shop/bar. We also mansged to wash all our dirty and wet clothes which was a greay relief. The Owner of this campsite was again great. So friendly and what a site she has. The campsite is all on different levels so everyone has a great view. By far the best designed site we have been at. Bobby and I took a wee walk after dinner down to the beach. I had a beer in hand and we sat on the wall listening to the waves come in sipping a beer. The sun going down but the rain not far behind it. Midges out we headed back to the tent. Got changed and hunkered down. Until I need the toilet and to my amazement the sun was back out and setting. Everyone was our with there camera and videos all around the site. What a moment. Spirits high as we probably had the best day so far, we finally got to rest our tired heads.
